Journal – Challenging to Me
Decades ago during my first year of college we were required to keep a journal. I was too self-conscious and restrained from putting “me” into the journal; it ended as clusters of shallow observations that I threw away once the class year ended. Not much has changed since my professor kindly described my journal writings as “straight forward prose” and urged me to be more open with my ideas and thoughts. Verbal communication? Much better. If I could apply my skills with verbal communication to my writing, that would please me and add value to what I write. What gets in my way?
